Official: James Rodríguez Relapses from Injury, Will Miss Colombia Matches

With another international break ahead, the FIFA virus is threatening big clubs everywhere, including Real Madrid. According to the Colombian Football Federation, James Rodríguez will miss his country’s latest call-up against Peru and Uruguay. Fortunately for Real, the 24-year-old will be able to stay in the Spanish capital, avoid long trips and recover from this relapse under the club’s supervision.

James became injured in the previous international break after having started the season in a good way. He scored two goals in two matches and showed that he was important for coach Rafa Benítez. His recovery was going as planned and he was supposed to return for the weekend’s Madrid derby. However, he will be away from the field for a few more weeks.

Although Real Madrid haven’t released a medical report at the time of writing, official confirmation should be released soon. Los Blancos have had some bad luck with injuries this season. However, some regulars like Bale and Ramos are already rejoining his teammates, while Danilo may be coming back after the break.

Isco, Vázquez, and Jesé have all filled in for the Colombian during his absence, with Isco being the most prominent. The midfielder will have a few more opportunities to keep improving his form and stopping James from returning to the right wing role.
