Now, Cruz Azul has 17 points and is placed in the 6th spot of the Liga MX standings. Before this match, the Cruz Azul faithful were panicking a bit about the outlook of the season, but this 4-0 win over Atlante comes as a breath of fresh air, reviving what was a moribund team.
Of course, not everything is great for Cruz Azul, they defeated a team that has now lost four games in a row. However, they do have the good fortune of now having to face a team that has lost two in a row and has been pretty bad all season long. This match against Atlas will be a great test for Cruz Azul, it will show if the match against Atlante was the real deal, or just a one time fluke.
