Manchester United have been particularly busy when it came to signing new players over the last few days. Matteo Darmian, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin have all joined the Red Devils and they will certainly constitute major assets for Louis Van Gaal’s team in the season to come.
The Dutch manager, however, still hasn’t satisfied his “appetite” for new players just yet, as the Guardian are claiming today that Paris SG versatile forward Edinson Cavani might be the chosen one to replace Robin Van Persie, who joined the Turkish side of Fenerbahce yesterday.
After the unpleasant episode at Copa America last month and the red card that probably cost his team’s elimination against the hosts and champions, Chile, Cavani is reportedly now the first choice to occupy the vacant spot left by Van Persie’s departure.
The Uruguayan striker’s deal with PSG may involve Ángel Di Maria, who is, according to the media, not “happy” with his life at Old Trafford.
At the age of 28, the man who netted in more than 100 goals during his six-years’ stint in Serie A, might turn out to be the Red Devils’ fifth major signing of the new season and a very strong asset in United’s desperate attempt to return to the good old glory days.
