CONFIRMED! Wonderkid decides against Manchester United move

Old Trafford

While Manchester United certainly displayed their financial muscle by luring the likes of Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao and Ander Herrera among others to the club over the summer, one man whom the Red Devils could not tempt to Old Trafford is Milton Keynes Dons’ star Dele Alli.

Considered one of the finest young players to have emerged from England recent times, Alli has been putting in some fine performances for Milton Keynes Dons over the last few seasons and as a result, had attracted the interest of a host of top clubs including Manchester United in recent times.

Dele Alli had attracted the interest of Manchester United

Having played a starring during MK Dons’ 4-0 victory over United last month, it had been reported that Alli had caught the eye of manager Louis van Gaal and that the Dutch manager would be making a move to sign the young midfielder in the foreseeable future.

However, Alli has slammed the door on any potential move to United  – for now at least, after signing a contract extension with Dons till 2017.

Alli signs a new deal with MK Dons

Confirming his new deal with the League One side, Alli expressed his delight and stated that he is happy to have committed his future to the club.

He said, “I’m delighted. This came as a bit of surprise but I’m thankful to the manager, the chairman and the club for this new deal and I hope to repay everyone on the pitch.

Alli delighted to stay with Dons

“My focus is solely on playing for the Dons. I’m a Milton Keynes boy so I couldn’t be happier representing my local team. I’m playing regularly in the first team as well which will only stand me in good stead for the future.”

While United may have missed out on the signing of Alli for now, the young man is still only 18 years old and there is every possibility that the Red Devils will reignite their interest in the man they call the “English Messi” in a couple years’ time.
