Fee Agreed, Manchester United to sign Teenage Sensation

While Premier League giants Manchester United require new players for the here and now to ease their current predicament, they certainly cannot turn a blind eye to the future as well.

Historically, the Red Devils have been a club who invest in youth, but their recent problems have meant that such a philosophy has taken a back seat during the last few seasons.

That being said, in Louis van Gaal, United have certainly appointed a manager who is a firm believer in keeping faith in young players and it can be revealed that the 62-year old has made a swoop for Dutch sensation Timothy Fosu Mensah.

Mensah is understandably an unknown to majority of the fans in England and probably in Netherlands as well, but the young man is considered one of the brightest talents to emerge from the famed Ajax Amsterdam youth team in recent times and has been impressing scouts and pundits alike with his fine performances.

Van Gaal has signed Timothy Fosu Mensah with a view to the future

A man with a keen eye for talent, van Gaal has been quick to identify Mensah as a potential star for the future and was believed to be closely monitoring the 16-year old over the last few months.

Now, according to reports in England, van Gaal has been able to tempt his former side to part with Mensah for a fee believed to be in the region of around £300,000 and the deal represents a coup for United as the likes of Manchester City, Inter Milan and Valencia were also said to be interested in the young man.

Mensah is predominantly a centre back but can play on the left as well and will now continue his footballing education at United’s youth team.

It is certainly too early to say that Mensah is a certainty to become a star at Old Trafford but there is every possibility that the young man can forge a good career for himself in the game if he backs up his immense talent with hard work.
