Manchester United’s Summer spree to continue with Double Dutch swoop

The much awaited signing of Angel Di Maria is finally set to be completed by Manchester United, after the Argentine winger was spotted arriving at the club’s Carrington facility last night.

While the capture of Di Maria is certainly a huge boost for United, his arrival does not fix all of the club’s problems and one can be sure that manager Louis van Gaal will be looking to recruit a couple of new faces before the transfer window slams shut by the end of the week.

Van Gaal still looking to reinforce his United side

As a result, a host of names have been linked with a move to United over the last few days and now reports have emerged claiming that the Red Devils are looking to make a double swoop to sign Dutch internationals Daley Blind and Nigel De Jong as well.

United’s attacking department is looking potent at the moment, but they are certainly short on quality in midfield, as well as in defence and van Gaal has been in the market to sign a couple of new players to reinforce the various weaknesses in his side.

Daley Blind set to reunite with van Gaal at United

Blind has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford over the past month, especially after enjoying such a fruitful World Cup campaign this summer under Louis van Gaal and it was widely believed that the versatile defender would be reuniting with his former manager at United as well.

Now, after weeks of speculation, it finally looks like United’s pursuit of Blind is set to come into fruition, after the Red Devils reportedly had a bid of around £12.5million for the 24-year old accepted by Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam.

De Jong will provide steel to the United midfield

Another player expected to be arriving at United is experienced midfielder Nigel De Jong. Much like Blind, De Jong also flourished under van Gaal during the World Cup and the Dutch manager is said to be keen on securing the services of the 29-year old in order to add steel to his weak looking midfield.

A fee of around £10million has been quoted for De Jong and there have been murmurs that the transfer could be sealed before the end of the week.
