Possible Manchester United Lineup vs Arsenal – Mata & Januzaj On The Flanks

The lows just keep on coming for Manchester United right now, and it’s not a great time to be taking this team down to the Emirates, despite Arsenal exhibiting a few problems of their own at the weekend.

The Fulham game doesn’t sum up the season by any means, because in actual fact United were extremely threatening in terms of their attacking intent, probably only for the third or fourth time this season. The result, however, mirrors the disappointment perfectly, and there now looks to be near enough no chance of a top 4 place, as Liverpool sit 9 points above them, and the form of the side shows no signs of improving.

So here we are once again, we are now on 25 Premier League games this season and Moyes has fielded 25 different starting line ups. For a team that won the League last year, it’s not only unthinkable, it’s actually laughable. And sadly for the Old Trafford faithful, laughter is pretty much all they can hear right now.

So with Arsenal to come, we can pretty much guarantee that David Moyes will change things again. It is expected that Phil Jones will come back into contention to play alongside Vidic with Rafael dropping to the bench and Smalling playing at right back.

Carrick and Fletcher will probably start again as United will need to get hold of the midfield, this means that Mata will most likely be asked to play off the right again, which could potentially result in a lack of width down the right, something that Valencia and Rafael certainly provided.

Rooney and Van Persie will continue upfront with the return of Januzaj surely inevitable this time around. Moyes will probably see things differently, but the 25 changes to the team haven’t really worked so far, so maybe it’s time for a rethink and a bit of continuity? Just a thought…..
