The Manchester United vs Fulham match will take place this Sunday, February 9, 2014 (8:00 AM Pacific, 16:00 GMT) at Old Trafford. Fulham find themselves in a desperate position currently and must make their way North to Old Trafford in the search for three points that will stop them being cut adrift at the foot of the table.
David Moyes can probably sympathize with Rene Meulensteen’s situation. In fact, it probably would have worked out far better for both men if Moyes had actually made him an offer to stay as his assistant. Sadly, this did not happen (as Meulensteen confirmed this week), and now both men find themselves under immense pressure.
For Moyes, there is no doubt that they have to win this game, and win it convincingly. The United manager has asked fans this week to trust his judgement on refusing to let Zaha get a look in and then farming him out on loan to Cardiff. United fans don’t trust Moyes in his team selection, so it’s unlikely that they are going to trust his judgement on this particular issue. What they probably will trust in, is United’s ability to take all three points from this game.

United call back Januzaj from a two game spell on the sidelines. He will accompany Mata, Rooney and Van Persie in a four pronged attack that will strike fear into the heart of the Fulham back four. Phil Jones is nearing readiness after his severe concussion at Stoke. We can also expect a return for Valencia, with Ashley Young set to miss out despite his award for goal of the month as voted for by the United faithful.

Mitroglou and Heitinga are both likely to feature for Fulham, as they attempt to kick start their season following the departure of Berbatov, while Lewis Holtby will also feature having been unavailable in the embarrassing midweek display against Sheffield United.
Manchester United vs Fulham Prediction
Although clearly all is pretty far from being well at Old Trafford right now, this game definitely represents a chance for a momentary change of focus. So much has been made this week of who else will be shown the door at Old Trafford with talk of Ferdinand, Evra, Van Persie and even Moyes himself facing the axe. However, the players will need to pull together for the rest of the season and start putting in the performances that they know they are capable of. Mata in particular will be keen to score and make a real impact in his second game at Old Trafford in the red of Manchester United.
It’s an uphill struggle for Fulham here, and actually for the remainder of the season. It doesn’t look great for them unless their new signings really start to inspire and turn things around. It could happen, but I can’t see it beginning tomorrow. Predicted Score: Manchester United 3 – 0 Fulham.
