EPL heavyweights reportedly interested in signing Tottenham target

Kovacic

The British portal, TalkSport, have reported that Manchester United are looking to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic. Inter Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur have all shown interest in the highly-rated playmaker. The news has been originally published by the Manchester Evening News.

The 23-year-old Croatia international has been on the fringes of Real Madrid’s team this season, along with Dani Ceballos, who has been approached by Liverpool this winter.

Kovacic is a versatile player, known for his excellent passing and dribbling abilities, combined with exceptional vision and prominent technique. Although his preferred position is a deep-lying playmaker, he can play as an attacking and central midfielder.

Therefore, United boss Jose Mourinho would like to take him to Old Trafford in order to provide additional support to Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.

However, according to some reports, Mauricio Pochettino is a big admirer of Kovacic, as he thinks the promising youngster could bring some extra quality to the Spurs midfield. It is still unknown whether Los Blancos would be ready to give up on such a talented player.
