Tottenham reportedly looking to pip Manchester United to £13million-rated Spain youth international

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Tottenham are keen on landing Real Betis midfielder Fabian Ruiz, but face stiff competition from Leicester, Manchester United and AS Roma.

The 21-year-old could leave the La Liga outfit this window should any of his suitors meet his £13million release clause, but the club are looking to renew his contract in order to increase it going forward.

Spurs are yet to make any signing this window, but could do with 1 or 2 additions in order to bolster their squad depth.

Despite being incapable of forcing himself into the first team at north London, Ruiz’s huge quality and talent make him a potential star going forward.

The Spain youth international has been a regular in Betis’ starting XI this term, weighing in 3 assists and 2 goals in 11 La Liga starts.

Ruiz creativity and willingness to aim at goal from long distance are features that would come handy in a side like Tottenham.

Investing in the future and youth is currently the order of the day at Spurs, and landing the Spanish youngster could be hugely rewarding in the future.
