Liverpool reportedly considering a surprise move for South American star

James Rodriguez

Surprise reports have arrived from the Spanish outfit Don Balon regarding potential interest from Premier League heavyweights Liverpool in Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez, currently on loan from Real Madrid.

The same news has been broadcasted by the reputable Sky Sports, claiming that manager Jurgen Klopp is seriously considering Colombian star as a replacement for the departed Philippe Coutinho.

The German boss is searching for a top-class midfielder to fill the hole left by Brazilian wizard’s transfer to Barcelona, with several attractive names circulating around.

The media in the UK have mentioned Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez as the most probable candidates, but according to the latest reports, Klopp might be looking to sign the former Monaco attacking midfielder.

The 25-year-old impressed the whole world with remarkable performances on the last World Cup, which earned him a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

However, Rodriguez failed to make an impact at Santiago Bernabeu, and Florentino Perez has decided to send him to Bayern last summer on loan.

The former Porto player has had a solid first half of the season in the Bundesliga though, and Jupp Heynckes would hardly let him leave this January.
