Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is concentrating on the current season and not paying attention to speculation suggesting that he could become the manager of Real Madrid next season.
Since taking over Spurs in 2014, Pochettino has transformed Spurs into a side that can compete with the best teams and which can challenge for major silverware and he has since also become one of the most respected managers in world football.
Real Madrid meanwhile have been below par by their standards this season and are already 19 points adrift of arch-rivals Barcelona in the La Liga standings.
This has led to speculation that the Spanish giants could consider replacing manager ZinedineZidane with Pochettino at the end of the season.
When asked about the speculating linking him with Madrid, Pochettino said: “Football will take me where football wants to.
“[Former Argentina international] Jorge Grifa, who was like a second father to me, would tell me, ‘Don’t think too much, enjoy the present, be professional and responsible and let football take you where it wants to.'”
