Tottenham reportedly withdraw from race to land £45million-rated Brazilian whizkid

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham have stepped down in their pursuit of Bordeaux wing sensation Malcom, handing Arsenal and other suitors a big chance of landing the Brazilian.

The 20-year-old has light up the Ligue 1 this term, registering 7 goals and 4 assists in 18 appearances.

His form attracted Spurs, and a winter move was being mulled over as manager Mauricio Pochettino planned to strengthen his squad.

With Georges-Kévin Nkoudou gone to Burnley till summer, it appeared the north London club wanted to bring in Malcom to help add depth to their attack.

However, his £45million asking price appears to have put them off, and they will now prioritize landing other targets.

Arsenal could now be in prime position to bring the exciting winger to town as they look to replace the wantaway and outgoing Alexis Sanchez.

Malcom would have brought a new dimension to Tottenham’s attack given his direct style of play and ability to take on defenders with ease – a feature Pochettino wanted, leading him to the signature of Nkoudou.

Should the Frenchman – whom Burnley don’t have an option to sign permanently – prove his worth at Turf Moor, he could be back in summer to be Tottenham’s own very Malcom.
