Newcastle have received a massive transfer boost as Chelsea want their long-term target Charly Musonda to go on loan for the rest of the campaign.
The Toons were keen on securing a temporary deal for the 21-year-old during the summer window, but will now face stiff competition for his signature this month with Bournemouth, Watford, and West Bromwich Albion also all keen.
The winger has played just 2 league game for the Blues this season, and has publicly expressed his frustrations, prompting Chelsea into agreeing to let him leave temporarily.
Newcastle can land Musonda if they can guarantee him regular playing time, and given their current squad, a starting spot should be available for the highly-talented youngster.
He demonstrated his attacking threat by scoring twice for Chelsea’s Under-21s against Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy earlier this week, and the Toons could do with his quality given his ability to also play in the middle of the park or behind the striker.
Having led Chelsea reserves to the UEFA Youth League and F.A Youth Cup victories in recent seasons, Musonda should have no problem helping Newcastle to Premier League safety should a move to Saint James’ Park go through.
