According to the Goal.com, Borrusia Monchengladbach have publicly announced that they will do anything to keep Tottenham’ target Jannik Vestergaard till the end of the season. The player was previously being monitored by Inter and Arsenal.
After the injury suffered by Toby Alderweireld back in November, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been looking for an adequate replacement, and the name of Jannik Vestergaard emerged as a possible solution.
The former Werder Bremen centre-back has been one of the most dominant defenders in Bundesliga for the last couple of seasons. His main characteristics are physical strength and aerial duels, but he also has a decent technique for a player of his height.
However, the German side looks determined to keep their best defender, as they are fighting for the Champions League spot. Therefore, all interested clubs will have to wait until the summer.
As things stand, Tottenham will have to look for Alderweireld’s alternative somewhere else.
