Leeds reportedly closing on the signing international for £500,000

The Sun reports that Leeds United are closing on the deal with Gamba Osaka over a Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi for a reported fee of around £500,000.

The 21-year-old midfielder has shown great class for both Gamba Osaka and Japanese National Team over the last year.

He is a combative box-to-box midfielder, a tireless runner that covers a lot of the pitch. The Championship Club had been watching him for some time, and now the Japanese international is finally close to moving to England.

However, due to relatively young age and lack of experience, it is expected that Leeds will send him to Cultural Leonesa on a loan deal till the end of the season. A loan spell at Spanish Segunda Division can give him the necessary experience and the sense of European football style.

Leeds’ manager Thomas Christiansen sees Ideguchi as an investment for the future. He will arrive at Elland Road to complete the medicals next week.
