According to The Daily Mail, Celtic are very close to signing the Australian wonderkid Leo Mazis from Belconnen United.

The 17-year-old midfielder has impressed the manager Brendan Rogers during a trial spell back in November and earned a long-term contract. The youngster has so far played for Belconnen United, a team that competes in the National Premier Leagues Capital Football.

Celtic already have quality in the midfield, and the question is whether Rodgers will be able to give a chance to Australian teenager.

There is no doubt that Mazis is a promising youngster, but it is certain that he will need time to get used to the style of football in the Scottish Championship.

While further details have yet to be known, it seems that the final agreement is close but it is still not known whether the prospective midfielder will go somewhere on loan or will remain with the Hoops. Mazis is expected to sign the three-year contract.
