As per Marca, Tottenham are interested in bringing Villarreal striker Cedric Bakambu to England next month as they search for a reliable backup for Harry Kane.
The Londoners signed Fernando Llorente during the summer transfer window but to say the Spaniard has failed to impress will be an understatement.
Attention has now been turned to DR Congo international Bakambu, but West Ham could revive interest having seen a £26million bid knocked back by the La Liga outfit during the last transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been in great form for Villarreal since arriving 2 summers ago, scoring 46 goals in 101 games across all competitions – including 12 in 17 this term.
The London duo can do with Bakambu’s striking qualities during what is bound to be a crucial second half of the campaign for both.
Spurs can give Kane much-needed support and rest as they aim to finish strong both domestically and continentally, while the Hammers can add more attacking firepower to a frontline that has failed to live up to its full potential this term.
With an impressive finishing and lot of pace to burn, Bakambu seems like a signing bound to hit the ground running upon arriving the EPL, but it remains to be seen if any of the London sides will make a serious approach for his signature midway through the campaign.
