Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hailed striker Harry Kane as being one of the best in the World after he scored a hat-trick during Spurs 5-2 demolition of Southampton on Tuesday.
The hat-trick was Kane’s second in the space of three days after he also netted three during his sides win over Burnley during the weekend.
In the process, the England international surpassed Alan Shearer’s record for most Premier League goals in a calendar year and he also overtook Lionel Messi to become the leading goal scorer in Europe for the year.
Kane finishes off the year with 56 goals for club and country with 39 of them coming in the Premier League.
“For me, he’s world class,” Pochettino said. “I think today, [number] one striker in the world, specific position. Who’s better than him?
“I think he’s one of the best because it’s difficult to say he’s the best but today he showed to everyone that he’s one of the best.”
