As per Skybet, Tottenham are clear favorites to land Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw in January, with a reunion with boss Mauricio Pochettino on the cards.
The 22-year-old is out of favour at Old Trafford, firmly behind first-choice Ashley Young in the selection order.
With United keen on Spurs’ left-back Danny Rose, a swap deal between both sides involving the wantaway duo could be worked out during the winter transfer window.
Given Tottenham’s poor Premier League campaign, quality additions are needed in January to help them to another top 4 finish, and Shaw represents an ideal player to help with the mission.
The England international was at his best under Pochettino at Southampton, making it to the PFA Team of the Year at just 18.
Shaw has already shown he’s capable of being the best in his position in the few games he has played this term, and he could be the perfect like-for-like Rose’s replacement.
Pochettino can once again bring out the best in the highly-talented Shaw, and his performances on the flank can help start creating some of the missing clear-cut chances the attack needs.
Adding the youngster to the squad could be the only move Tottenham need to seal in January in order to get their campaign back on track.
