Everton boss Allardyce takes a swipe at Liverpool legend

Everton boss Sam Allardyce has taken a swipe at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher on Eurosport following the Merseyside derby on Sunday.

The game ended off in a 1-1 draw and Carragher was critical of the tactics that were used by Everton, suggesting that they were sitting too deep.

Allardyce feels that his team were pushed back by the high quality of Liverpool. The Toffees went into the game as underdogs and the result will be positive for them considering the way that they have been playing this season.

Allardyce said: “You get forced back, if Jamie’s listening to this, by two teams. “One is by the talent of the opposition and the failure of your players to play out when you get possession. I will give him a lesson on coaching so he can understand next time he is commentating.”

They did get lucky as Liverpool missed some promising opportunities but in the end their never say die attitude paid off as Wayne Rooney scored a penalty which earned them a draw against one of the in-form teams in the division.
