According to reports, Celtic could be set to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Marvin Compper during the January transfer window.
The 32-year-old has found regular game time hard to come by in the Bundesliga this season and it is understood that sporting director Ralf Rangnick will listen to offers during the January transfer window.
Compper whose sole cap for the German national team came nine years ago during a game against England was a regular in the Leipzig first team last season as they surprisingly went on to finish the Bundesliga in second position and earned qualification to the Champions League.
He has also lost his position to Dayot Upamecano, who is one of the top young defenders in World football so Celtic need not worry about his lack of playing time.
At 32, Compper will provide plenty of experience to Celtic and he is unlikely to cost a hefty amount either.
