Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to rule out the possibility of Gareth Bale making a return to his side in the future by saying “you never know in football”. Bale left Spurs to join Madrid in 2013.
He has however been hampered by injuries recently and has struggled to earn regular game time with the reigning Champions League winners and this has led to speculation that he will leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
Though he has been blighted by injuries since leaving Spurs, Bale has earned tremendous achievements during his time with Madrid and has helped the club win a La Liga title as well as three Champions League titles.
The Wales international is widely expected to leave Madrid at the end of the season and has been strongly linked with Manchester United.
Pochettino however admits that he could also end up at Spurs by saying, “Always he keeps in contact with the people here that he worked with in the past.
“But then I don’t know because I don’t have a close relationship with him or his people. Of course he is a fantastic player and you never know in football what can happen.”
