Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has claimed that Tottenham are capable of winning the Champions League after they stunned his side 3-1 at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night.
A brace from Dele Alli and a goal from Christian Eriksen helped Mauricio Pochettino’s men secure a memorable victory against the defending European Champions.
After the match, Zidane admitted that his team were outplayed on the day and also went on to add that Spurs are one of the sides that are capable of winning the Champions League.
Following the game, Zidane said: ‘Many teams can win the Champions League and Tottenham are certainly one of them. We came up against the superior team. They were better in every aspect.”
This will certainly be good news to Spurs fans especially as the club is looking to end a nine year trophy drought this season.
Real meanwhile are going through a difficult period and the defeat marked their second consecutive loss after they were also defeated by Girona in the La Liga last weekend.
