Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to give a concrete answer over the availability of talisman Harry Kane for the clash against Real Madrid.
Kane has been in sensational form so far this season, scoring 13 times in 12 appearances and his importance to Tottenham was summed by his leading role in Spurs’ 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in Santiago Bernabeu.
However, Kane is currently injured and will possibly not feature in the return leg due to a hamstring injury when Spurs welcome Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday night.
When asked about the availability of Kane, manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed he was not sure if the 24-year-old will pass the fitness test.
Pochettino told the media, “We’ll see, we’ll see in the next few days if he can arrive and if he will be available to play against Real Madrid. We need to assess him tomorrow and after tomorrow and then take a decision.”
This return leg against Real Madrid is very important for Tottenham and if they secure a victory at Wembley, the Lilywhites will be in the driving seat to top their group.
Tottenham look severely weakened without the England international in their side and it was on display during Spurs’ recent 1-0 defeat to Manchester United where they failed to threaten David De Gea’s goal throughout the game.
