According to reports, Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is a major doubt for the Champions League game between the Spanish giants and Spurs on Wednesday.
Spanish source AS claim that the 24 year old Varane suffered an injury to his leg during Madrid’s humbling defeat at the hands of Girona.
The report added that Nacho is likely to be the man to partner Sergio Ramos in defence for Madrid should Varane officially be ruled out of action.
Injury setbacks are nothing new to Varane who had to miss the early parts of the season due to a muscular injury.
He has also struggled for form this season which has also coincided with Madrid’s inability to maintain their top class form from last season.
Los Blancos are currently third on the La Liga standings and already eight points adrift of traditional rivals Barcelona. They appear to have lost the mojo that they played with last season and the season before.
