Football pundit Jamie Redknapp has accused Tottenham Hotspur of being arrogant after they were stunned by West Ham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked on course to easily reach the quarter-finals of the Cup after goals from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli gave them a 2-0 lead.
However the Hammers managed to record a shock victory through a brace from Andre Ayew and a strike from Angelo Ogbonna and this will help relieve some of the pressure from under fire manager Slaven Bilic.
Spurs were surprisingly underwhelming during the game following impressive performances against Real Madrid and Liverpool last week.
Asked if Spurs were complacent, Redknapp said to Sky Sports: “I’d go as far as to there was too much arrogance from Tottenham. They got all the plaudits, and rightfully so, after Sunday – they were fantastic and outworked Liverpool in every department.
“But today’s performance was a shocker. To go from being two goals up and completely in control to losing the game showed signed of arrogance and complacency. I was pleased Mauricio Pochettino didn’t try and style it out because they were poor in the second half.”
