Liverpool star Sadio Mane has won the Premier League player of the month for August following an impressive start to the season. The Reds will certainly be hoping that the Senegal international can carry on his good form throughout the season.
Mane opened his goal scoring account for the season during Liverpool’s first match of the season, which was an entertaining 3-3 draw with Watford as he scored an equalizer on the day, midway through the first half.
He went on to find the winner for his side during their 1-0 win against Crystal Palace a wekk later and was also on target during the Reds last Premier League match, which was a memorable 4-0 thrashing of Arsenal. He also won the man of the match award during the clash against the Gunners.
This marks the first time that Mane has won the Premier League player of the month award.
He beat off competition from the likes of Phil Jones (Manchester United), Romelu Lukaku (Manchester United), Henrikh Mkitaryan (Manchester United), Alvaro Morata (Chelsea), Jonas Lossl (Huddersfield) and his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.
