Everton reportedly keen on signing 29-year-old striker

According to reports, West Brom and Everton are set to compete for the signature of Watford forward Troy Deeney.

Ronald Koeman has made no secret of his desire to add another striker to his team before transfer deadline day.

Though the Merseyside club managed to sign Sandro Ramirez this summer, the youngster is untested and inexperienced at Premiership level.

With 76 Premier League matches under his belt, Deeney could be a good signing for Everton. At 29, he may also feel that the time is right to experience Europa League football and play for a team that could potentially challenge for silverware.

The impressive hold up play and bullying abilities of Deeney is likely to be something that will appeal to Koeman.

In regards to West Brom, they were heavily dependent on Salomon Rondon to bring them goals last term and the addition of Deeney to their side will be a progressive step in their aims to grow.
