Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has spoken out about reports suggesting that striker Diego Costa could be set to join Everton on loan.

Speaking in the aftermath of his sides 2-0 victory over the Toffees on Sunday, the Blues boss revealed that he himself does not know what lies ahead for the Spanish international.

When asked about the situation, Conte said, “I don’t like to speak about the players. I don’t know.”

The controversial Costa is said to be still in his homeland of Brazil after refusing to train with the Chelsea under 23 side as well as being deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Costa has made no secret of his desire to return to former club Atletico Madrid. However the transfer band on Atleti currently means that he will only be able to join the club in January.

He may need to find a club to join at least until then, especially if he wishes to stand a chance of making the Spain squad for the 2018 World Cup, and Everton have been mentioned as a possible destination.
