According to the Mirror, Tottenham have agreed a £20million transfer fee with PSG for the signature of controversial right-back Serge Aurier.
It’s believed the Manchester United target will sign a 5-year deal with Spurs in the coming days, though he is still banned from the UK after he was handed a two-year suspended sentence for attacking a police officer in France.
The Ivory Coast international has appealed the ban, and it remains to be seen if a final hearing to decide his fate will take place before the transfer window shuts on August 31.
Though they have got a reliable option in Kieran Trippier, Spurs are still in dire need of another right-back following Kyle Walker’s exit.
Despite the promising potential of 2nd choice Walker-Peters, Tottenham are keen on landing an experienced defender as they challenge on all fronts this term.
Without a doubt, Aurier is their man. The 24-year-old has also been targeted by Inter Milan and Chelsea, and why his next club isn’t certain, his PSG exit is.
In 125 Ligue 1 appearances for both Toulouse and PSG, Aurier registered 10 goals and 23 assists.
His unrivalled strength and attacking powers are features that make him the perfect Spurs player.
If his legal troubles and off-pitch antics can be overcome, the West African star could be one of the best things ever to happen to the north London club.
