As per the Mirror, Tottenham are still very much in the race to land £10million-rated Estudiantes centre-back Juan Foyth despite a stall in talks.
PSG appeared to have gone far ahead of Spurs in the pursuit of the 19-year-old Argentine defender, but Foyth has been holding out in favour of a move to north London as he is keen to work with manager Mauricio Pochettino who is an idol back home.
Despite having a move for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez in the pipelines, the Spurs boss still desires another centre-back as he wants to shore up his backline with enough depth to last the whole season.
Foyth is highly-rated in Argentina, and it’s believed the under-20 international is on the path to a senior team call up soon.
The teenage sensation is very comfortable with the ball at his feet as he doesn’t shy away from dribbling, and he also has a keen eye for passing and making timely tackles.
Under Pochettino, Foyth can definitely grow into the next Toby Alderweireld, and signing him would be a step in the right direction as far as preparing for the immediate future goes.
