Tottenham reportedly block summer exit despite tempting offer for player

According to France Football, Tottenham rejected Trabzonspor’s loan bid for Moussa Sissoko despite the Turkish giants’ offer to pay all of his £95,000 weekly wages.

Spurs aren’t keen on a temporary exit for the French international midfielder as they want him permanently off their books.

Sissoko had agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor, but the north Londoners rather want to recoup much of the £30million he arrived from Newcastle for last summer.

Despite starting just 8 EPL games last term, the 27-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Tottenham’s XI against his former club on Saturday.

Sissoko featured for an hour in the 2-nil win at St. James’ Park and could still have a future at the club going by manager Mauricio Pochettino’s gesture.

As it stands, no club is willing to prise Sissoko away from north London despite the club’s willingness to do business, and with Spurs also not ready to let him go on loan either, it could mean he is still in their plans.

With another opportunity to impress seemingly likely to be handed him, the Frenchman may just finally prove his worth this term.
