Tottenham are interested in securing the services of Burnley striker Andre Gray this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
Having failed to land a capable backup for Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen flopping last term, Spurs are keen on getting Gray to help add much-needed depth to their attack.
With one year left to run on his contract, the 26-year-old has refused an extension with the Turf Moor outfit, and having recently made the famous Jorge Mendes his agent, it’s believed he’s open to a move.
Gray came to prominence following 57 goals in 111 appearances at Conference Premier League side Luton Town. He sealed a move to the Championship, where he linked up with Burnley after a season at Brentford.
With both teams, the English striker bagged 41 goals in 88 Championship games, emerging as the Golden Boot winner and Player of the Year in the 2015–16 season.
While a return of 9 goals in 32 Premier League games last term for The Clarets isn’t particularly the most impressive, his work-rate and finishing are enviable, and he definitely can score more goals in a bigger club.
Without a doubt, Gray can be a quality addition to Spurs if signed. He has proven himself, and with top quality teammates like Tottenham’s, he can be a reliable and constant goal threat.
