Tottenham have accelerated their pursuit of Bolton goalie and England under-18 international Jake Turner having learnt of Manchester United’s hunt for their man, reports The Sun.
The north Londoners are keen on adding the teenager to their defensive ranks, and have scouted him extensively of recent, sending representatives to watch him in action in Bolton’s last two reserve games.
Despite recently penning a full-time contract, Turner is yet to play for the Wanderers’ first team.
That hasn’t stopped suitors from desiring to land him, though, with Everton also monitoring his situation.
Tottenham are currently left with only Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm having let Pau Lopez return to Espanyol, while Luke McGee has made a permanent move to Portsmouth.
Jake, with all his potential would come handy as a third-in-line if signed.
The 18-year-old is widely tipped to go all the way to the top of the game in few years to come, and Bolton have plans to fully capitalize on his sale by letting the highest bidder have his signature.
Having recently returned to the Championship, the club are in need of funds to boost their survival hopes for next term.
So while Spurs actually do have a chance to get a future Hugo Lloris on their hands, they have got to outbid other suitors to get Turner.
