According to popular bookmakers Betfair, Everton have a 6/4 chance of signing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud before the transfer window deadline.
The 30-year-old Giroud was used mainly as a substitute by the Gunners last season and could be further heading down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette.
With the World Cup taking place next summer, Giroud will know that he will have to play regularly this season if he wants to have a chance of being part of the French squad for the showpiece event.
As a boost to Everton, Giroud did recently admit that leaving is an option and said ahead of Arsenal’s pre-season tour of China and Australia, “It (leaving) is an option to be honest with you. I’m here in pre-season, I wanted to travel.
“Some people asked me if I am going to travel or not and of course, I am Arsenal player and for the moment I am here so I just want to prepare well for the season and we will see later.”
