As per the Daily Mail, Tottenham are at the risk of losing centre-back Kevin Wimmer to Southampton in the coming days.
With Virgil van Dijk’s exit from the Saint Mary’s increasingly becoming a possibility by the day, the Saints are keeping an eye on Wimmer as his possible replacement.
Tottenham value Wimmer to be worth around £20million, and will agree to sell him if Southampton come to the negotiation table with the amount.
The Austria international desires regular playing time, but that isn’t forthcoming as Spurs chief Mauricio Pochettino prefers to use Eric Dier and Vincent Wanyama ahead of him in defence.
The Argentine manager wishes to retain the services of the 24-year-old, but wouldn’t go against his departure.
The Austrian featured sparingly for the LilyWhites last term; he started 7 games and came off the bench once in all competitions, so he definitely isn’t an indispensable asset to the club.
