According to The Evening Standard, Tottenham are no longer interested in pursuing the services of Porto right-back Ricardo Pereira amidst growing interests from Juventus for the 23-year-old.

Pereira spent the 2 last terms on loan at Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, and his performances caught the eyes of Spurs head scout Steve Hitchen, prompting the club to consider him as capable replacement for the departed Kyle Walker.

Porto are said to be holding out for £22million as asking price for the versatile defender, and are confident it wouldn’t scare suitors away.

Juventus’ firm interest has however made Tottenham decide to consider other options.

Hoffenheim’s Jeremy Toljan and Torino’s Antonio Barreca have been linked with the north London side, and is unknown which of them is most likely to be signed.

Youth team player Kyle Walker-Peters, 20, is the only other right-back option available to provide Kieran Trippier competition, but he’s more of an understudy to the senior squad player.

The club will surely keep exploring more right-back options as the search for a backup cum competition continues.
