Manchester United reportedly handed a huge boost in their hopes of signing midfielder

According to reports, Tottenham star Eric Dier is keen on joining Manchester United despite Spurs stating that they will not be selling him this summer.

Dier is a key part of the Spurs team as well as the England national team and Mauricio Pochettino will likely use him as a key part of his side as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season.

The 23-year-old Dier is contracted with the North London outfit until 2021 and earns £70,000-a-week with Spurs. However, a move to United could also be appealing as it could see his salary double.

Dier is a boyhood supporter of the Red Devils and grew up idolizing the likes of club legends Roy Keane, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. As a result, the prospect of playing for the club that his idols played for will be tempting.

While Spurs may not lose Dier this summer, there is a strong chance that they will in the future, provided the player can maintain good form.
