Everton scout says Toffees on the verge of major £20million signing

Giroud

Carlo Jacomuzzi, who serves as a scout for Everton in Italy, has claimed that the Toffees are closing in on signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal and will pay £20 million to sign him.

Ronald Koeman’s side are looking to recruit new strikers as they prepare for the departure of Romelu Lukaku, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

They have already signed Sandro Ramirez from Malaga and despite the Spaniard being a very talented player; he lacks experience in the Premier League, which is why Giroud could be a good signing for the Merseyside club.

Everton have also been linked with a move for Duvan Zapata of Napoli. Jacomuzzi has however suggested that they will push ahead of Giroud as the Italian club are demanding too much for Zapata.

He said, “We’re going to sign Giroud,’ Jacomuzzi told Radio Crc. He will cost £20m. It’s a bargain compared to the €25 million (£22m) which Napoli asked us for Duvan Zapata.”
