Tottenham reportedly plotting a move for South American midfielder

Pochettino

As The Sun reports, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could turn to Fiorentina’s Matias Vecino in an effort to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window.

The 25-year old player impressed over the course of last season, recording 40 games in all competitions. Vecino is a defensively minded midfielder, adding in an occasional goal or two.

Vecino could be the perfect replacement for Eric Dier, who is heavily linked with a move away from Tottenham. Reportedly, Manchester United will be Dier’s next destination.

Because of this possible departure, Vecino could swap Serie A for the Premier League, and the Uruguayan midfielder could significantly improve the overall depth of Pochettino’s squad.

When it comes to Serie A, Spurs are also connected with Suso, a player who already spent some time in England playing for Liverpool. One of these players could be on his way to London before the end of the summer.
