As Evening Standard reports, Gylfi Sigurdsson is “priceless” to Swansea, and they will do everything they can to keep him at the club, despite a strong interest from Tottenham.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing the Iceland star back to White Hart Lane, and he already referred to the midfielder as the “perfect player” for the Spurs. Sigurdsson played for Tottenham from 2012 to 2014, recording 83 appearances. However, he left the club shortly after Pochettino took the helm.
Swansea’s chairman Huw Jenkins has stated that they are not going to sell the player during the transfer window. Speculation in the media has appeared in the recent period, with a reported £25-million bid from Tottenham. Also, another Swansea player is involved in media rumors, as Fernando Llorente could join his former boss Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
If Pochettino fails to sign Ross Barkley from Everton, Gylfi Sigurdsson seems to be the perfect solution, but Swansea will have a say in this matter as well.
