Tottenham reportedly lining up a £26.5 million bid for 28-year-old midfielder

According to a source close to Express, Tottenham are interested in signing Adrien Silva, the captain of Sporting Lisbon.

Even though Silva extended his contract in February this year, and is now bound with the club till 2020, he is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League.

Tottenham are eager to secure a signature of a midfielder as Delle Alli could be leaving the club this summer and Silva fits the bill.

The experienced and versatile Portuguese midfielder is now 28-years of age, which could present a problem during his acclimatization period

However, his skill and talent could be a valuable asset for Spurs. During last season in Sporting, he scored 6 goals in 36 appearances.

It is reported that Tottenham are lining up a bid in the range of £26.5 million, and they are eager to seal the deal this week, ahead of player’s departure to Confederations Cup with his national team.

Silva is also on the radar of several other clubs in the PL, including Leicester City.
