According to reports, Newcastle United are closing in on a loan deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham. Abraham has shown signs of becoming a future superstar this past season as he scored 26 goals for Championship outfit Bristol City.
Leicester and Brighton and Hove Albion were recently rumored to be in the race to sign the 19-year-old Abraham.
However according to reports, Newcastle are the favorites due to manager Rafa Benitez enjoying a good relationship with Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo.
Chelsea reportedly granted permission to the Magpies as well as Leicester to hold talks with Abraham last week.
It is definitely a good decision from the Blues to send out the youngster on a loan to a Premier League outfit. Had he been brought back to the Chelsea first team, game time would have been hard to find.
With the Magpies Abraham is likely to gain regular game time and in addition the Blues will be able to analyze whether he has the makings of a future Premier League superstar.
