Newcastle will have to act quickly if they wish to make Christian Atsu’s loan deal from Chelsea permanent at the end of the season.
According to ESPN, the Magpies will have to decide within a week of the season ending whether they would like to keep Atsu permanently at the club and pay the £6.5 million that is required to keep him.
Considering the caliber of talent that exists within the Chelsea setup, it is unlikely that he will be part of the clubs future plans and the Blues may well look to sell him during the summer.
The Ghana international has made 30 appearances this season which included 13 starts as well as a contribution of four goals and three assists.
The 25-year-old has a largely mixed reputation among fans of the Magpies with some feeling that he should be given more opportunities in the first team while others feel that the club should let him go.
