Eric Dier has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur may struggle to replace Harry Kane after the star forward suffered a potentially season ending injury during Spurs’ win against Millwall in the FA Cup during the weekend.
From 29 appearances this season, Kane has bagged 24 goals and is joint top scorer in the Premier League.
Dier said, “Obviously Harry is very important for us, a big part of this team in many ways. I don’t know how bad it is. Hopefully he is fit as soon as possible.
“There aren’t many players in the world you can replace Harry with but it is a chance for someone else to step up. Not just the strikers but the whole team.”
Though Kane had to limp off after seven minutes during Tottenham’s thrashing of Millwall, Son Heung Min and Vincent Jannsen were both on target, with the former bagging a hat-trick.
This provides some hope for Tottenham as they will likely have to play a huge role for the club during Kane’s layoff.
