Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed that he may have some champagne to celebrate after making his 200th appearance for the North London club against Everton on Sunday.

The French international has been a key part of the Spurs team since arriving from Lyon in 2012 and has served as club captain since Mauricio Pochettino arrived at the club in 2014.

He became first choice upon arriving and is likely to retain the position for a few more years. The 30-year-old played his 200th game for Spurs recently and he has revealed he might indulge in champagne to celebrate.

“It’s a good number,” he said to the club’s website. “I said before the game that the result was more important than my 200th appearance for Tottenham but maybe now I can open a bottle of champagne and share it with my family!”

From 24 Leagues games this season, Lloris has kept 10 clean sheets, only Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois has more with 13.
