The Liverpool Echo have reported that Everton may consider signing impressive young Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford during the summer.
Pickford has been one of the bright sparks in an otherwise struggling Sunderland team this season and has been touted by some pundits to be a future England national team first choice goalkeeper.
Despite only making his senior team debut in January 2016, he is now regarded as one of the best young shot-stoppers in the Premier League. He also received a call-up to the England national team in October last year but failed to make an appearance.
Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles have been used by Ronald Koeman in goal this season for the Toffee’s, however both have failed to convince that they are capable of holding the first choice position for the long term.
Pickford will be a good buy for Everton and should be keen to join the club. At just 22, he may be able to supply the club with many years of service should be become first choice.
