The German Newspaper Bild have reported that Nabil Bentaleb is just one appearance away from triggering a permanent £16.1 million move from Tottenham to Schalke.
The Algerian international is currently at the Bundesliga on loan, however should he feature in their next match against Cologne, his move would be made permanent.
It would be his 20th game for the German side and after becoming a key man of their squad this season, they will surely be happy to tie him down to the club on a permanent basis.
Bentaleb has been in good form this season, notching five goals as well as five assists in the Bundesliga this season. He appears to have settled at Schalke.
After failing to establish himself at Spurs, the North London club will also be keen to receive the payment which may help them sign an additional striker to support Harry Kane. They are currently not short of midfield options.
