Tottenham midfielder Anton Walkes has joined MLS side Atlanta on a loan deal till the end of the season, as reported by Goal.
On Wednesday night, it was reported that Walkes jetted to the US at the start of the week for talks about a transfer.
Confirming the deal, United president Darren Eales said, “Anton has a bright future and we’re thrilled to have him continue his development at our club.
“He’s a young player who’s already been part of the first team squad at Spurs, featuring often throughout the summer until his official debut in the League Cup in September. He’ll be a welcome addition to our club.”
Walks is thought to be part of the next generation of Spurs academy products that looks to follow in the footsteps of Harry Kane and become a future Premier League star.
Thus far, Walkes has made just one senior appearance during Tottenham’s 5-0 League Cup win against Gillingham. He has spent most of his time thus far playing in central midfield, however, has been used by the clubs under-23 team, mainly as a centre back.
He has made 17 appearances for Tottenham’s development side this season, 12 of which came in Premier League 2.
